Hi,
I have a small database that is replicated and shared. I have a missing reference on all computers with an XP operating system (the older system works ok), and they can't access certain records (I'm assuming because of this missing reference). Any idea on how to get around this? Thanks for any suggestions - Todd

You will have to install and register the missing control on all the systems where it is missing. Replication only replicates the database, not references.

The control in question appears to be a 3rd party control, not included with MS Access, although Bosi commonly refers to Back Office, so it may be a Microsoft product. But, before you copy it to other computers, you should determine if you have license to do so.

Or

Remove the reference to the control and change whatever procedure uses it. Chances are, it is used in a form to handle a memo field somewhere. It may not be required, only convenient.

Thank you for your reply.

I think I did remove the actual control (thinking along your lines). How would I remove the reference? Thanks for your help.. todd

Most likely, the control is used in a form. You will have to modify the form by removing the control. I'm not familar with the control, so I don't know what it would entail to replace it with another. You will have to make that determination. It may be an integral part of the form and you cannot do without it. But, if you can get rid of it, then you can remove reference to it by going to Tools|References while viewing code (either in the form or in a module) and unchecking the reference.
