Missing record navigation buttons

I'm having a problem with the record navigation buttons that are normally displayed on the property toolbar. When my form is opened and data displayed, these buttons initially display, then disappear. If I open a second form (leaving the first one there), then close the second form, the buttons are displayed. They are not displayed when the second form is opened. I do not have this problem with Paradox 9. I do have this problem on Paradox 10, unless I stop the execution of the form with a set point in debug during the open method, then click "run". Very strange. I have the same problem if the form is delivered (although I can't run debug then). Has anyone seen this before and is there a solution? I'd appreciate any help I can get!

If it is just the buttons and not the whole toolbar, than I have no idea - have you loaded the service pack(s) for version 10?

If it's the whole toolbar then you may have some code that is hiding the toolbar in that second form. I would do a global code search for the word toolbar and see what comes up.

If it was designed in 9 and run/compiled in 10, then that may be an issue. I only have version 9 so I don't have experience in converting from one to the other.

I just double checked, and it is the whole toolbar. Actually, it appears that a different toolbar is being displayed. The one I expect has "run form", "design form", "view", "edit", "locate", etc. The one I am seeing has "open table", "open form", "open report", "open query", etc. I just downloaded and ran the service packs and hot fixes for Word Perfect Office 2002 (which contains Paradox 10) and still am seeing the problem. I just did a search on the entire directory structure of my application and database and only found references to "toolbar" on a couple reports and forms that the application had not referenced at the time of the problem. Any other ideas? FYI, this application was actually designed in an earlier version (at least before Paradox 7). We are now testing Paradox 10.

It doesn't sound like you did a true global search of your code. Open a form and click on an object that you know has code attached to it. Then select Search->Find and enter toolbar in the blank, then check the little box that says Global Search. This will search all the code on THAT form. You will have to repeat this on any other forms you want to search.

What I did was right click on the root directory of all of my files and search all files in that directory and all sub directories for "toolbar". However, I just did as you suggested, searching the two forms that are involved, plus all the libraries and came up with the same results.

Then I'm out of ideas. Anyone else?
