One of my users is experiencing a weird error where he clicks the "open" link of a document and gets windows error about the document being missing. Our environment is load balanced with windows NLB, and i believe the error is related to the first server not having an open link, and the second one does. I assume this is an INI entry---anyone have any ideas?

check the viewablemimetypes section of the working server and the non working server.if they are load balanced and they connect to the same database then these sections are what that provides the open,download etc.also the file store should be on a share that can be accessed by the livelink service user on both the machines.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

[ViewableMimeTypes]
MimeType_1=image/gif
MimeType_2=image/jpeg
MimeType_3=text/html
MimeType_4=text/plain
MimeType_5=application/pdf
MimeType_6=application/x-zip-compressed
MimeType_7=text/xml
MimeType_8=message/rfc822
MimeType_9=application/x-macbinary
MimeType_10=image/pjpeg
MimeType_11=application/zip

These entries are the same on both servers

Please compare the hyperlink offered by the two servers
Also please compare if the IE settings is set to cache.That is livelink does not understand the "Automatic" in the IE settings,it should be set to "every visit to the page".I have a question your qn is not very clear as to if the user is seeing the "open" link on the same object when on both servers?if they are seeing "open" then it is not an ini file problem as I suggested earlier.This is not a curious case of a Remote cache server install where the Remote site user will get the link and the "mother ship" user not getting the document,that is by design :)
