missing out the www.

Not sure if this is the most appropriate forum - apologies if not.

How would I make a domain name work in a browser if the user forgets to type in the

http://www.?

For example: spiraxsarco.com instead of www.spiraxsarco.com

It works for some sites (eg: Amazon, Google, Microsoft)

You have to setup a DNS A record for this point to the servers ip address. Just like the

http://WWW record

except do not give this record a name.

In addition to the DNS record requirement, the server must be set to answer without the www. also.

Thanks both. I already had IIS set up correctly for this. I have since contacted our ISP and they are updating the records for our domain names - all 65 of them
