Hello. I had a database that was originally done in Access 2000. I am now using Acess 2008. I had gotten this error message every time I tried to open it. "your microsoft office access database or project contains a missing or broken reference to the file". I went online and found this KB article to correct the problem After doing this, now when I try to open the database, it asks for all the parameters. As a test, I sent the database to a workstation that had Access 2003 on it, and the database opens fine. Just like it always did. How can I fix this problem, so I can correctly use the database on my computer with Access 2008?
Thank you

Perhaps the problem is that you have a version of Access that doesn't exist anywhere else in the universe? There is no Access 2008! If you're running a newer version than v2003, you must be running v2007.

When you say "After doing this" do you mean that you've checked and fixed missing references?

What "parameters" is Access asking for? To my knowledge only queries in Access ever request parameters. Code does not run in 2007 unless your database resides in a folder that has been declared a “trusted” location; perhaps there is code that supplies needed parameters when the db opens and this isn't getting done because it's supposed to be done in code. Try setting your db's folder as trusted:

To trust your folder, click:

Office Button (top left)
Access Options (bottom of dialog)
Trust Center (left)
Trust Center Settings (button)
Trusted Locations (left)
Add new location (button)
