Hello

I am using a Windows XP computer and recently installed 3 different versions of MS Office on my computer: 2003, 2007 and 2010.

An Access 2002 database that worked well before isn't now and I get the error message that I'm missing the MSOWCF.dll. How do I get this .dll and where do I install it to so the database works again?

Thanks.

Hi

Yes that is what it is but that still doesn't help me find it or where to install it to in order to fix the database that isn't working.

Thanks.

Go to the VBA editor (Alt + F11) and look in Tools->References
Somewhere in that list will probably be something that says "MISSING:". Try unticking that and see what you get.

Hi Ben

Thanks very much. Yes I already did that and now when I try to press a button on the start form that is to open up another form I get another message indicating:

"The expression On Click you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Object or class does not suppor the set of events. The expression may not result in the name of a macro, the name of a user-defined function or Event Procedure. There may have never been an error evaluation the function, event or macro."

When I click on the "Help" button it indicates that one of the reasons for this message is a missing reference. The database was originally created in Access 2002/XP. To get into the VBA code I have to open it in database view but when I try to go into the VBA code to see what is referenced, the database now crashes and closes.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

You may have a poorly mdb. Try creating a fresh, blank database and import all the tables, forms and code into it.
Once you've done that, go to the VBA and do Debug-> Compile and see what that throws up.
