I have a small network with no server all have static ip addresses on 2000 wkstns.....all can see each other via the run command but browsing network neighborhood is a no go.....gives message like "error browsing network because not configured properly"

this is a bit of a bummer cause there is a cdrom server which connects straight to the network. browsing the network would make things a lot easier. it is funny cause I have checked all the network settings and everything seems fine.

1. Make sure there are no firewall issues. The local subnet should be a trusted zone;

2. Enable Netbios over TCP/IP in TCP/IP Properties, Advanced, WINS tab.

3. Make sure all have the same Workgroup name, and unique Computer Names.

4. Make sure all logons are done with passwords

5. Share sometime: folder, printer, but something at all workstations
