Can someone explain to me as I seem to be the missing link. I open a form which is linked to 1 table. The primary field is named Spin. My form opens blank which suits me. However I thought if I entered the spin vlaue for an existing record the rest of the fileds would automatically fill out on the form. But it does not! Can anyone point out to me where I am going wrong?

So your form's property "Data Entry" is set to Yes.
Delete the Spin control on your form. Then create a combobox to replace it by using the Combobox Wizard. One the wizards screen, select the third option "Find a record ... based on the combobox..." (or something like that).
