Missing halacpi.dll when I try to reinstall

Hello:

I have recently formatted my machine and trying to install Win2k Professional.

Before I reformatted, I made the 4 boot disks that Win2k wants to boot from DOS so that I can start Setup.exe from the Windows 2000 CD.

I shut down my machine, input the first disk, and the blue Setup screen comes up, and everything starts to go fine. Then it asks me to put the 2nd disk in and I do so, however, it tells me that there is a Fatal Error Code 7, Missing /halacpi.dll. Is this because I reformatted my machine? If so, should I reinstall my old OS (Me), which I have an ISO image of and can easily do that and get the file.

And while I am on the topic of errors in Win2k, I had Windows Me installed and wanted to install 2000 over it, however, when I put in the CD and told it to do a fresh write (reformat everything), it still keeps Me. Is there a way around this?

Thanks a lot to anyone who can help.

The missing file is supposed to be on the second boot disk, not your hard drive. I would suggest creating another set of boot disks and trying again.

Thanks:

I did that after I posted the message and it worked perfectly. Thanks though. I formatted my boot disks and remade them and they worked fine.

Thanks again,
