Hi,

Could anyone help me with this? One of my colleagues lost five files and I tried to restore them from backup tapes, but all no good. I am wondering if there is a backup restriction on files saved certain levels down from the root file. Files I tried to restore has a path as follows: G -> Operations -> Programs -> Day Programs -> School -> Modules -> Activity - > Submit -> API -> Document.doc and etc...

By the way, we use Cheyenne ArcServeIT. Will that be a problem? How can I diagnose where the problem could be?

Many thanks

Cowper

Usually, there is a 256 character limit on file paths and usually it starts from the UNC name eg. \\SERVERNAME\VOLUME\DIRECTORY etc...

However, the files should still backup. Check your log to see if there were any errors. Were the files open at the time because if they were they won't get backed up.

Hi,

How long ago were the files deleted? It may be possible to get them back using Filer. Try that first.
