When a du followed by a ls command is issued against a directory the following error is returned:

du -ak
du: ./OraInstall: Invalid argument

ls -i .
./OraInstall not found

It would appear that the file been removed but the inode remains?
Please could someone explain the above and possibly provide a fix.

Can you use the a flag against a directory? Is the directory empty?

From man du(1):

NAME
du - Displays a summary of disk usage

SYNOPSIS
du [-a | -s] [-klrx] [directory...]

STANDARDS
Interfaces documented on this reference page conform to industry standards
as follows:

du: XCU5.0

Refer to the standards(5) reference page for more information about
industry standards and associated tags.

OPTIONS
-a Displays disk use for each file. Without -a, du does not report on
files unless directory explicitly names a file.

[Tru64 UNIX] When run on an AdvFS clone fileset, du -a displays the
disk use for each file in the original fileset at the time the clone
fileset was created.
