Good Morning All,

I have a Netware 4.2 server running Arcserve 6.6 SP 2000.1. Today we have to restore one directory from Thursday nights backups. Usually, I just go to restore select media view, click on the media used Thursday night and then expand the sessions untill I see the directory I need. Unfortunatly, I'm unable to expand past the volume level. A further check into my other media's on this list shows that the file details appear to have stopped being recorded about March 21, 2001. All media older than March 21. Allow me to select down to the file/directory level.

Does anyone have any idea as to what may have changed to loss this detail ?

Also should re-merging the sessions from the tape add then to the Arcserve Database ?

Thanks for the help

My personal experiences with this problem have been solved by either re-merging the tape or the desired session. There has been 1 or 2 times that the ASTPSDAT file has gotten TOO large...more than 2GB and I have had to copy the original file from empty DB to the arvserve database folder. At this point you MUST merge any details that need to be restored if the backup was done previously. I hope this helps out.

Thanks Wamason;

I looked through my logs and have noticed that as of March 22nd. My backup jobs are no longer being merged to the ASDB at the end of the backup process. My database is only 645MB in size. Any idea what switch is needed to restart the merges after doing the backups ? I though it was automatic.

Also if my DB is too full how do I go about cleaning it. I have Auto Prune jobs greater than 10 months and Auto delete after 14 months.

Thanks for the reply
