I created a report using Crystal 8 and compiled it with the distribution expert. I am running MSDE 2000 on my network and connected to the db and ran the report without issue. I installed it at another location with SQLServer (not MSDE version) running. When I attempt to run the report I get this great error: Missing DLL. As you can understand its not too helpful. Any suggestions?

That could be a bogus error. Did you run the setup.exe that was created by the Distribution Expert on the target machine, or just copy over the ReportName.exe?

Also, unless you're using an ODBC DSN, I don't think the compiled report will run unless the Server, Database, and User names are the same in both locations.

vidru, Thanks for your reply. I've used the Distribution Expert in situations where the Server, Database, and User Names are not the same and not had problems. The difference is that if the connection information is the same the user is not prompted to enter the information. I should mention that this has been true when connecting to Access and MSDE environments. Perhaps there is some difference with the SQLServer environment. I didn't think there would be given that the MSDE engine is the unbundled SQLServer engine.

I have used User and System DSN ODBC connections with success but not File DSN. I assume your reference to ODBC DSN is User or System.
