Missing Disk Free Space After Recovery

I am running Windows XP and had to do a recovery recently. I replaced my fles with my back ups which was about 8 Gigs. C Drive capacity shows 67.5 Gigs with 65.2 Gigs used and 2.31 Gigs free. I used to have like 40 Gigs free with the same files.

I looked at all of my folders and can't see anything that would be taking up the memory. I did a search for large files and didn't find anything I didn't recognize.

I have disabled system restore and I have ran the Disk Clean up and Scan Disk.

Any ideas where my lost memory went?
