We recently noticed some of our customers were missing when inputing orders. After looking carefully, many of our customers are missing. Their history is still there, but we have had to go in to customer maintenance and add back a hundred or so. We did a sales tax update recently, but the pattern of missing customers seems random. Anyone have clue??

This kind of stuff is always expected in Mas 90, in my opinion. I've had some crazy stuff like this happen. Usually, though, I see missing invoices and such. Sometimes, it's user error (they deleted it) and sometimes, an updates fails and the user does not realize it.

How about creating a test company w/ a few customers, maybe even copy the company you're having a problem with and try deleting a few customers. Do they still appear in history? Do you have the same scenario you do now?

Just an idea, since no one else replied as of yet. And do let us know what you find on this. It'd be good to know.

Missing customers are only "expected" if you have network/hardware issues. You can rebuild AR1 (your customer master file), but the records are probably missing. It is still a good idea to clean up the file as it may be damaged. Typically, missing customers are related to a bad spot on a hard drive, and SCSI drives seem to have more problems than other drive types. If there are not a large number of customers, you can re-add the basic information after rebuilding AR1 and AR sort files. You should then be fine. If the problem re-occurs, rename the original Ar1XXX.soa file to something like Ar1XXX.bad and copy that file back to ar1xxx.soa (where xxx is your 3 char company ID). Repeat the cleanup steps above.
