Missing COM 3 & 4 with Motorola SM56!!!

I can’t get Motorola’s SM56 ISM56PCIDFV : SM56 Software Speakerphone Modem for PCI (Data/Fax/Voice) to work. I recently upgraded from win98 to win2000. On 98 the modem was on Com4. After installing the driver for 2000 I only have Com 1 & 2. How do I get COM 3 & 4 back???

I downloaded and installed the drivers for PCI2 from

Regards,

Joe

On Win 2K, the installation software should assign your Modem to the next available COM port. If COM1 and COM2 are showing in Device Manager, I would assume that the BIOS is setting them up. When you then install the Modem it should default to COM3.
You can use the "Install New Hardware" function to install a COM3 or COM4 or etc. but then the installation software for the Modem should try to default to the next unassigned COM port.
