Missing Categories

I have a SharePoint workspace with about 550 categories. Since a couple of days ago all of the categories are now not listed when checking-in a document. All the cats are listed in cat view through the client, it's just the check-in category selection list-box which is missing a large number of categories.

Any ideas?

Hello Andy,

We had the same problem before. Here is the Microsoft article that may help

If the that isn't the problem, then the number and length of your categories is- according to Microsoft when we opened a ticket- they said there is a limit on the file size for the category catalog and there is no fix other than deleting categories to make room for new ones.
