Hey everyone,

We're running a BCM400, on the BCM4.0 software. I just noticed I have an 1140e phone with labels for the wrong features.

IE, on my phone, the first three softkeys to the side of the screen are:

Conference
Forward
Last Num

When I push the Conference button, it says "Forward To:"
When I push the Forward button, it says "Make calls first"
When I push the Last Num button, it works.

In Element Manager, for that set, my button programming table looks like this:

Feature: Call Forward (F4)
Feature: Conference/Transfer (F3)
Feature: Last number/Redial (F5)

If I switch the first to features in Element Manager so they look like this:
Feature: Conference/Transfer (F3)
Feature: Call Forward (F4)

Then the two buttons on my phone switch:
Forward
Conference

When I push them, they still do the wrong function.

Any ideas as to what is going on?
Thanks!

Have you installed the latest SU (System.020) as well as UTPS (271-IPTEL) patches?

Chek the buttons using feature * 0. To make sure what button is what. Reboot phone too.

Hey Cook,

When I push F*0 and then the button labeled "Forward" the phone displays "Conference."
When I push F*0 and then the button labeled "Conference" the phone displays "Forward."

After a phone reboot (removing the power and reconnecting) I have the same results.

Once upon a time these were fine, but just the other day I noticed them being backwards.

I'm just hearing that there are multiple people with this same problem in my company. I have confirmed 4 others, but it is likely everyone.

gwebster, how do I check to see if these are installed? If I don't, how do I obtain them?

Look at "Managing BCM Software Updates" in the Administration Guide. You will need to get SU/patches from an authorized Nortel partner.

Make sure under telephony, global settings, IP terminal features, key labels, that someone didn't change the labels.

That was exactly it bluemr2. There were two lines for conference and forward being assigned to the wrong feature key.
