I have a customer with MICS 4.1
They have an ATA2 with a cordless phone.
The phone misdials most of the calls.
I put in a different ATA2 same thing
Tried a new cordless phone same thing
Use my buttset to call out same thing
I'm plugged directly in to ATA2 so it's not a wiring issue.
I have my DTMF grabbing testset hooked up to the CO line and I can see the correct digits but it still misdials. This is the only ATA2 on the system and no digital phoes have problems. Tis happens across different lines too
Any ideas?

Thanks Steve

Have you played with any of the ATA settings in programming?
Have tried another ATA?

Thanks Curly.
Yes I tried another working ATA2 and power supply.
I also tried a different digital extension but with same result.
Reset MICS too.
The only ATA settings I changed were the
off-site/on-site.
I've tried dialing out from all different lines on the main cabinet and some off of a 12x0
It is really crazy and doesnt make sense I hope Im missing something easy but I dont think so

If you are showing the correct DTMF passing to the CO with your tester, I would try this quick check.

Try using feature 808 "long tones"
Suggested ATA settings
ATA ans timer 7
ATA use Off site
Msglndicate None
ATA dvc Telephone

Although a bit of a stretch, the interplay of an ATA and the MICS might not be supplying tones of sufficient duration to the CO or to whatever device provisions your CO lines if other than POTS. However, the MICS alone may be providing sufficiently long tones.

My only other thought is to swap a VMI module for the ATA if you have one. It has more configuration options.

Bring in a 3X8 or another KSU to test, this will tell if a Carrier issue or not.

Software or trunk card issue too....bring a card.

"I also tried a different digital extension but with same result."
Presume you mean tried another port.
Was going to be another suggestion.

When you dial another extension does it call the correct one?

How far away is the ATA from the Norstar system?. How far away is the cordless phone from the ATA?. Had it previously worked OK?.
Try the ATA in a different position or port etc.

These are just a few initial thoughts I have.
