Hello,
Could someone please help me, I am trying to mirror our current DB2 database which is 120G to a new set of SSA disks on an AIX5.1 server. I was wondering if there will be an effect on performance when I try to sync the logical volumes. Also if anyone has any idea how long it will take to sync 120G.

Many thanks
Dexter

Hi,

Normally this kind of mirroring will slightly slow the write operations ,but will speed up read operations.

The sync performance and cost depend heavily on the platform strength and both disks throughput.
the sync of 120 GB can take couple of hours assuming the read/write throughput will be around 20 MB/sec. "Long live king Moshiach !"
