Mirroring striped volumes

I have an F80 running AIX 4.3.3. I have a striped volume across two physical disks, and in the last four months both disks have failed! Luckily I had good backups in each case; but now I've convinced myself to mirror the set. Anyone out there mirroring striped volumes? I'd like to hear your success/failure stories. Thanks.

Hello,
You can mirror strip volume. There is physical strip vs logical stripe. plus one of the disk has to empty.

we have 12 striped disks of which 6 are mirrored , running
Oracle , for a year and have not had any problems. Running AIX 4.3.3 ML 8.

we've have 10 stripped disks which have 2 mirrors i.e 30 disks in total. Running on Aix4.3.3 no problems so far but a nightmare if you want to add additional disks to extend your lv's
