SQL 2005
Hi All,
I have 2 servers each located on differnt locations.
They both are not on a domain and they both connect to the net via a std router. Each server has a static IP.
I am trying to set-up mirroring on a very small db. I run through the mirroring wizard, all seems fine, but the servers cannot connect when I actually try to activate mirroring. (The servers connect to each other via SSMS etc no problem). I have also opened the relevant ports for the mirroring and configured the firewall.
I think the problem is the fully qualified domain name(FQDM) - I am struggling to know what it is, if the server is not part of a domain.
Currently I am tring: TCP://ipaddress(100.200. etc)ort number. Reading up it says the FQDM should include a hostname, but what is this if the server is not on a domain?
Any help towards the correct direction will be appreciated.
Thank you.
Michael
