Hi,

I want to mirror a volume groups cross two sites. The sites are connected through SAN (using 2x 1 GB links between the sites). I know this is going to cost performance. Because of the write consistancy check.
But is there a way to tell that all read actions should be done on disks on the Site where the LPAR is running. So read actions are not going over the 1GB link.

I'm using AIX 5.3 TL9

Thanks in advance.

MWCC is not the issue, fundamental physics is the issue. Light travels at a finite speed in glass. Under 1km you won't notice it. Between 1-10km you may notice it but you should be ok. Between 10-100km you will notice it and you may not be ok. Over 100km you will not be ok.

Can you force all reads to come from one copy of each Logical Partition and not the other? Yes - "chlv -d's'" but this will also have an impact on write performance. Also note that you will have to keep track of the location (near/far) for each copy of each LP using "lslv -m" and watch out for any reorgvg or mirroring operations.
