I'm running Novell Netware 5.1 and recently ran a VREPAIR on the SYS volume after a power outage. It came up with about 500 errors while going through 'mirror mismatches'. I've run the process a few times but these errors never go away, they just hover at around 500 (sometimes a little less and sometimes more). What would be the problem? I'm not having any troubles accessing files, and a hardware diagnostic on the drives didn't come up with anything. Is this something I should be worrying about??

Hi

Make sure you set your options to write changes out to disk.

The error count should come down, once I had a server crash and had to run vrepair 22 times, but normally 5 or 6 times will clear thing up.

The Mirror Mismatch -- there are two copies of the File Allocation Table (FAT if you want to call it that)... They should be identical. When you have a power outage, its typical to have them become out of sync, but a VREPAIR usually fixes it up pretty good.

Besides writing out to disk, there is another option to purge deleted files. You may want to set that as well and run through it again. You shouldn't have any errors on a vrepair.
