MIRANII: Dead, or just needing reinstalled?

Serial cable for my MIRAN II card finally arrived, and I was able to confirm most things appear to work except for a few things.

(It's likely just fully dead due to it arriving with an exploding inductor on the board)

However: the STRINGS file is missing from C: (is this normal?)
and the DSP will not boot ("no load detected") and I can see no files obviously referring to that. Is this a DSP communication issue and the card is dead?

Is it possible to use a MIRAN V-LAN to use the DSP on the (working) MIRAN I card?

I'm not sure that I can answer that question, but you might be able to reload in the software again. I have attached a guide I did many years ago.
