We've had problems with some cell phones and Vonage (voip) DTMF tones being compatible with MIPCD. When you call the main system, any valid keys you enter are accepted, but once the call gets transferred to MIPCD, the key entries are not recognized at all.

Is there anything I can adjust that might make a difference? (I'm a computer guy, not a phone guy, so please in layman's terms :)

you might have a timer problem, if i get answer supervision, i usually set my timers to allow dtmf for 500mil if i don't get as, my inter digit and end of dial times have to expire, idt, then eod.. a simple test MIGHT be to dail a # or a *# before the expected digits to fool the timers, also check this from a digital set on the switch and a analog, that helps determine the direction the trouble comes from..
