While setting up backup jobs i have been using an administrative account with a rolling password to access files across the network. Now that the backups are configured mostly how we need them we are trying to run the job through a service account.

Question: How does Arcserve access the required files (directly and/or through agent) and what is the minimum requirements in terms of privlages/group policies that i would have to apply to the service account in order for ARCserve to correctly authenticate in windows? Giving this group full administrative privlages is undesirable as the password will remain static.

Regards,
Drew

Made the account a member of Backup Operators Group. Preflight check works...back up still fails.
