Hi all

Newbie type question from a complete Linux newbie.

I have a spare PC, 133 MHz, 32 meg of ram, that I would like to set up as a Linux server to do some development work with MySql.

Performance would not be important - is this spec high enough for the stated purpose?

Thanks in advance HTH

Yes, that should work with no problem. If you plan on using xwindows with Gnome or KDE you may see that they use quite a bit of your resources but for what you want to do, it should be just fine.

No problem at all! Try to have a minimum 1 gig HD and you'll be well beyond the minimum spec for Linux!

I have a very similar setup - Pentium Classic (with floating-point bug!) 133Mhz, 64mb RAM, 4gb hard drive, Matrox video card. Works great.
