When I minimize a window it "disappears" and does not show on the toolbar. Alt Tab will restore it. Any ideas why this is happening and a fix for it. Running win98se.
Thanks

Look at the task bar, is there a vertical line on it? Move the mouse over it and when you get a double-headed arrow, click and drag it to the side, maybe toward the QuickLaunch bar or Start button.

You just got hit with the FriendGreetings virus.

Go to:

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

Scroll down the list and look for a program containing "WinSrv Reg". Simply uninstall this program.

If, for some reason, this doesn't work, go to:

Start > Run and type MSCONFIG. Go to the Startup tab and look for an entry that says PMEDIA. Uncheck it.

In both cases, reboot your computer and your taskbar will work again.

BTW, you got this by going to the FriendGreetings website and installing a program that the website said you needed to install to view the Greeting Card. Oh, and by the way, if you use Outlook, the virus just told all your contacts to go to that website too.... cheers!

(the website has been taken down now)
