I just purchased Illustrator 10. Every time that I minimize Illustrator, everything minimizes except for the tools and the palettes. Then, when I try to close Illustrator, it will not close. I called Adobe and they had me go to the Adobe file and delete the "preferences". This allows me to restart the program, however, I cannot minimize it without going through the same thing. Does anyone know the answer to this problem. Thanks in advance.

Dont have 10 yet, (no reason to upgrade) but I think there is a reset pallets command in the view or windows menu. Not sure if this will work but your other alternative is to completely uninstall AI and reinstall it, then download any patches from In a few rare cases I have found that installing Photoshop AFTER Illustrator solves some weird problems but I've only had to do that on windows boxes.
