Minimize button shuts down application 1

I am encountering a strange problem I have never come across before. One of our users in LA called me to say that everytime he goes to minimize a program whether it be an application or just an explorer/control panel etc screen the computer shuts down the application/window.

Does anyone have any ideas on this peculiar problem??
