minimising jframes

Hello
I have a jframe with the 3 jpanels on it,one of which has graphics on it.When you first run the app it displays fine,but if u minimise the window or go to another app and then go back to it,the components dont show up ie the buttons,textareas etc.
You have to resize the frame to see everything.I've tried the refresh method ,but nothing works
Any ideas?

I've had this in the past - but cannot remember precisely the fix - have you tried the validate() / revalidate() methods ...
