Hi, Just installed Minicom for Cisco Console connectivity and after setting it up according to , still get following automatically upon connecting and it goes on and on:

WAN>$ind computer addres^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^ ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^HH^H^H^N>
WAN>% Unknownand orr name, orble to find^H^H^H^H^te

Could it be the VT102 that appears on bottom of the screen while running Minicom?

Any help is much appreciated!

It appears you have a bunch of backspace characters in some string. Did you use your backspace key to "erase" an initialization string or something? If so, the terminal type was interpreting the key incorrectly.

Could be a couple of things;

- Your router is configured to log all system messages to the console
- With the above it is possible that your COM port setting cannot accomodate the speed by which the console messages appear on the console

I have seen similar issues when connecting to Linux servers to KVM switches
