Hello All,

I have a library of lectures video recorded on Mini DV Tape that I'd like to make masters of in CD or DVD format so that I can create copys to get to folks that have requested them. The lectures are usually 4 to 6 hrs. long. I think that people only want the audio portion of the lecture so they can listen at their leasure on the go or whatever. Any suggestions about how to go about doing this. Someone mentioned two scenarios. Inputing onto a computer, (what software is necessary?) or input onto a TIVO unit (DMR100NS) with a firewire input for speed. That will then be able to output to DVD or CD I think.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi,
I just recorded my Mini DV Tape, into my Computer, using a FireWire Cable and FireWire (i-Link) Card. You also need a Software that will Capture the Data from your Mini DV.
I recorded both Audio and Video , but I am sure their is a way to disable one of the two..
About the Format of the file, If it's only Audio, maybe you can convert it to MP3, and then burn it to a CD,
I am trying to convert all the Data to DVD, but haven't done it yet...
