I am about to start on a project using MIMS, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with any general information, concerning its capabilities and what it does over all, specially concerning Asset, work and Maintenance management and its integration with GIS systems.

Look at for general info and contact details.

If your firm already has MIMS, you would have the distribution CD containing Reference Manuals on each of the topics you were asking of, and more.

Otherwise, welcome to the team of happy MIMS users! I would leave it to Mincom representatives to give you more info.

Shackle,

MIMS is an EAM system. It grew out of the requirements of a RIO tinto site at Weipa in Qld. And is now one of the foremost managers of enterprise level requirements in the world. Its main competitors are maximo and , recently, a host of ERP style systems including SAP, JDE and PRONTO.

As an EAM system MIMS is most focussed on the areas of Operations and Maintenance and has provably reduced maintenance and inventory costs for many clients.

Feel free to contact me for some more specific advice. I am not a representative of Mincom, nor am I selling anything.

regards

Oz
