Anyone have a technique to mimic multiple tabs in Crystal Reports using BO XI? We have a number of existing BO FC reports that present the report information slightly differently on a number of tabs. Commonly the data is simply sorted differently.

One idea was to place hyperlinks on the primary report to reports with the alternate sort orders. The issue appears when the data query takes 3+ minutes. Each time a report is run the user waits 3 minutes. Not popular. Is there a way to reuse the data from the first report or another technique we would be exploring?

Thanks,
scott

Crystal doesn't allow you to have several representations of the same data other than by using cross-tabs.

I suppose you might create a report or a atable and use it as the source for additional reports, but that's purdy fugly as well.

Fugly, but probably the best option.

If you don't need the data to be live, you could follow synapse's line of thought and dump it to a table in pre-calculated format and pull your crystal info from there.

You could schedule the job to run nightly, or hourly or whatever.

I doubt I have any better ideas for this.
