Apologies if this is a dumb question, but I've surfed and can't find the answer.

The following tasks have a calendar which start at 08:00 and finish at 17:00 and lags are all FS 0d.
Task 1 1day task Finish today @ 17:00
Task 2 (successor to 1) 1 day starts tomorrow at 08:00
Task 3 (successor to 1) milestone starts today at 17:00
Task 4 (successor to 3) 1 day starts tomorrow at 08:00

So why does a successor task that is a milestone start on a the same day, but if it has any duration start the next? It's not a big deal and I've only noticed it because I have a Project Start Milestone at the beginning that starts at 08:00 while most of the rest start @17:00.

Hello Dr.Simon,

Tasks with zero duration (milestones) are not bound by working time definition in the calendar. Milestones are just single points in time -- if work is going to be expended or resources assigned, do not set the duration to zero.

I hope this helps.
Julie
