Hi,
After a couple years my Server PC became unstable. Now I'm going to buy a new Server PC. Can somebody help me on how to migration all the windows 2000 server systems and files to my new PC ?
Thanks

Did you read any of the dozens of threads already on these forums regarding exactly that same question?

Research first, then ask specific questions. We'll be happy to answer those.

1. load new server
2. put it on network
3. copy files
4. decom old box

There is a tool called FSMT (file server migration tool) from Microsoft that can help you greatly.

you just cant use the same name if you want a smooth transition (you can however do SMB redirection to trick clients into using the same name, which in turn maps to another name....fsmt sets up SMB redirection if I recall correctly...or rather, can set it up)
