Finally getting to upgrade from 4.2 to 5.0. I tried to run the MIGRATION utility on the 4.2 server. I get the following error.

ERROR: Error was found when dumping database information!
Please try again later.

I ran the integrity check , and everything looks good. Any suggestings ?

Thanks

when u got this problem? Is it during the restoration of the database or during the sybase installation?

I recieved this error on the 4.2 server when I tried to CREATE PLATFORM RECOVERY DISK , under UTILITES.

1. try to do a Data Integrity Check to check if the database in 1 pcs.
2. Re-run the platform migration to see if it can repair the database in the old server....

All these need to be done on the active serve before migration because if you backup the "bad" database to the new server, it will not recover.

The solution to the below problem:

ERROR: Error was found when dumping database information !
Please try again later.
The fix is listed below:

Follow these steps:
1. Copy d:\nortel\iccm\dbinst\log_last.txt to log.txt.
2. Run server setup configuration again.
3. Generate PRD.
