Hello everyone

I´ve decided to migrate a windows 2000 domain to a windows 2003 domain, i can´t find any documentation on the web on how to perform that. I don´t wish to put the cd on the old windows 2000 domain servers, but instead of that i wish to add a new server with a pre-installed windows 2003 server.

It is possible to do that. What are the essentials steps ( beside of backing up everything ).
Is anywhere a good place where to find some documentation about those steps.

If any can help me i appreciate

Thanks to all

First off, you need to prepare the forest and the domain to extend the schema for windows 2003

>adprep /forestprep
on the 2000 DC holding schema master role

>adprep /domain
on the 2000 DC holding infrastructure master role

adprep is on the 2003 cd (i386)
afterwards you connect your server to your domain as a member...
then you do DCPROMO and choose existing server in domain...
