While trying to migrate our Oracle Database from version 7.3.4 to 8.0.5. We decided to use the migration utility. So after shutting down the database , We ran the MIG80 at the command prompt. It tried to start the
database, but then returned with and error :
ORA-01017 invalid username/password; logon denied

The documentation says that the MIG80 tool will ask for a password and we
got to enter the password for INTERNAL, thats MANAGER..

Please give me an answer...
Thanks in Advance
Mani

This is Mani again,
Forgot to mention , the above problem occured in the Windows NT Server 4.0 environment...

Thanks
Mani

did you have a password for internal before? if you did you might try specifying it on the command line:

mig80 internal/jhgjhfhf

solved the problem by setting the DBA_AUTHORIZATION parameter in windows registry to the password of user INTERNAL
