We're looking at migrating parts of the UK and US offices to OpenOffice or StarOffice.
Some of the existing office documents we have will not work - specifically excel documents heavy with macros and pivot tables but these power users can keep MS office installations.
However, a few of the more common word docs - specifically protected forms used for faxes etc still appear incorrect within OpenOffice. I was wondering if there are any differences in OO and StarOffice's implementation of MS filters that would make the old Word docs more 'readable' - otherwise we could go with redesigning the templates.
