Hi all.
I currently have an NT4 domain on one IP range. I have installed a Server 2003 AD domain on another server on a completely separate IP range. So far so good. Now I want to migrate the users/groups across using ADMT v3, but as the two IP ranges are separate (and I don't wish to join them), I have decided to try it over VPN. So on the new server, I have connected to our VPN (Cisco Pix) successfully, and can ping the DC on the old domain and vice versa. However, when I try to run ADMT and specify the old domain, it says:
"The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. (Error code=1355,domain=mydomain)"
On the NT4 server, I cannot add a trust relationship to the 2003 domain as it says: "Could not find domain controller for this domain" - even though the domain name and DC names are both in WINS (registered from the VPN connection.
Is there any way to run ADMT over VPN successfully?
Thanks
Jon
