Migration from 6.1 to 8.0

Hello All,

My company has two clusters in place. One that runs on 8.0 with 2000 users and another one that runs on 6.1 with 600 users. They are connected using an Inter Cluster Trunk. Each cluster also has Unity Connection and UCCX/IPCC. Right now we are planning to move those 600 users to the 8.0 cluster. I am in the planing phase now and I would like to get some pointers on how to go about this. Can anyone help with some info?

You will need to use the bulk admin tool to export and import everything you need from one cluster to the other. Before you import the phone files, change their partition so it can't be reached by other phones, then change back when ready to go live.

The good part is that you have both clusters accessible so you can compare after you import.

For unity connection you can use the cobra tool to export and import configs from one unity to the other since it has the option to add configuration without deleting existing.

UCCX you will need to manually move everything from one server to the other.
