All,

Moving a customer from Windows-based VM Pro (9.0) to Linux-based VM Pro (11.1.2.2). I plan on doing a scheduled backup and then restoring from that backup. I will also back up the Wavs, Greetings, Names, Accounts, and the MDB just in case something goes wrong with the Scheduled backup zip.

Any issues with this? I've done similar projects, just not from 9.0 to 11.1.2.2. Don't think I would need to step-upgrade this.

Thanks

Usually in cases like this I back up the modules and the auto attendant WAVs but just tell everyone to clear their mailbox as they will be reset as part of the upgrade. Most of my customers are simple mailbox users - a greeting and take messages, no schedules or anything special in there - so it is just a matter of recording names and greetings again and they are set. Then there's no farting around trying to get the accounts and such to sync, or spending effort restoring a mailbox with 200+ messages that they only check the email version with it set to copy and never clear the phone.

Which reminds me, the one thing I usually have issues with is the SMTP settings not coming across so make sure you have that info before the migration.

Thanks Qz, yea most of that stuff I'm already doing. My main concern is if there are any issues jumping from 9.0 to 11.1.2.2 when it comes to VM Pro.
