I have purchased a XP system and want to add an additional HD from my previous Win 98 system. I added a 80Gig drive to the Win 98 system a year ago and want to see if I can make use of it on my new system. It is functioning fine and is full of music files.

Is this as simple as removing the hard drive from the Win 98 system and installing it into the nex XP system? My mind hopes it is, but my gut tells me that nothing is that simple in the hardware world.

Any advise would be appreciated.

It should be as simple as you say (assuming you have not used any overlay software to get it working in its current machine. I think the software goback installed on drive can cause problems too)

are you useing this hard drive as a dual boot to win 98 or are you useing as just extra disk space if so you must set the 98 hdd as slave and when you can see it as a drive letter on your machine remove win 98 manualy
