migrating users from Novell NDS to Micrsoft AD .. my concerns

Hello all-

I am mainly concerned that Inherited Folder Rights won't copy over. There is a consultant here that is using Quest to handle to migration, they are not sure if all the departmental users will in fact regain their ability to see ALL of their folder and sub-folders due to inherented rights not applying properly due to the migration.

Any thoughts on this at all? Any info would be a great benefit here

Funny you bring this up today as we are going through the exact same thing but using the free tools (MSDSS and FMU) for our migration. ACLs transfer as follows,

NFS NTFS
Read - Read
Write - Write
Modify - Read/Write
Create - Write
Erase - Delete
Access Control - Change permissions
File Scan - Read

Anything more granular then that does not get transfered.

Don't know if this helps you, but have you considered also installing Services for Netware
