Hi All, wondering if someone could offer advice on thebelow.

I have 3 x MCD's

2 are on MCD 5.0 and clustered using RDN sync
1 is on MCD 4.0 sp4 with ip networking to the other 2.

Want to add the MCD4 standalone system to cluster and enable sharing.

I have completed the steps to add to cluster and all seems ok. Have now enabled sds in systme options.
Shared forms config shows Synchronizing TD/RDN with OPS Manager when clicking on 'change' i get a window pop up 'no records to change'

I know i need to migrate to common data distribution but it seems it will not let me.

All clustered controllers should be on the same software. If you want to add to the cluster I would suggest upgrading to the same as the others before joining the cluster. Part of this upgrade will be to migrate to GDM. However, This should not be part of the cluster when you migrate.

1) - You should not be editing the shared forms form from the unsynched system.
2) - It is telling you "no records to change" because you have not chosen a record to change - do not though.
3) - Synchronization is initiated in the Network element form - do not do this until the form sharing is configured properly on the master system
4) - Synchronization should be initiated from the master system - I do not recommend synching to a non migrated system
5) - The system can be migrated to RDN mode via a form in rel4.0 SP4 that has step by step instructions
6) - If you have already started sharing you should turn it off before migration - System Option - set to off
7) - before you migrate, get a backup
8) - after you migrate, get a backup
9) - You should have all systems at a comparable level but they can be clustered without it.
10) - If any of these points are unclear, hire an expert, you can seriously f*** up your system if you play with this stuff.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Agreed. There are MOL documents on migrating to GDM. The help files also have information.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
