Migrating to a new BackupExec server

Is there a way to move BackupExec onto a new server but still be able to use tapes created on the old server? The old server will no longer exist.

Yes you can use tapes from the old server. Just install and add those tapes to your media set . As long as the media has not been retired you can back up to it . depening on your overwrite protection and append scheme.


You can still do a data restore from this media.
But, ofcourse if you were backing up the registry for the old server you can not restore this to the new. I've seen that scenario before from others.
