Hi,

Here is my little problem that I can't work out...

I have a bunch of remote users dotted around the world. I need to migrate their computer and user accounts from domain A to domain B. I know how to do the migration but these guys do not have a LAN to connect to for authentication, they get to our network resources via VPN.

I ran a test by migrating a user account and becuase it is 'offline' the user cannot logon.

So does anyone know of a way or workaround or will these guys have to physically have to come into an office?

Does that make any sense to anyone?

Thanks

Does not make sense to me at all. They should just have to initiate their VPN first.

What you do not specify though is if the remote machines are members of the domain. If they are then have the users dial in via VPN and migrate the machines while they are on line using ADMT. If that will not work, then use NETDOM while the user is connected via VPN to move the machine to the new domain. The user will need to set up their profile after that so you might want to back it up first.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
